I finally boston qualified at White Rock back in mid December! Was easily up there with one of the best finish lines I've crossed. I think mainly because It was a long time coming. Boston is one of the first goals I ever had. Before I really knew much about Ironman or the Ironman World Championships. CLICK HERE to check out my race report from White Rock. Finish time was 3:06:50 which is a 7:07 avg mile. 68th Overall and 6th in my Age group.
I took some major downtime after the marathon. One entire week off from exercise and ate how I wanted. I didnt write down anything I ate. Started working out again the next Monday but nothing too hard. Maybe rode my bike for an hour or so and ran maybe 2hrs total. This week I've gotten back to it with both my nutrition and training.
If you look over to the right I have a prelimanary list of 2009 races up. Most of those are for sure but I put things like Kona and the MeatPie tri on there, which may or may not happened depending on qualification for Hawaii. I'll do my usual 3-4 half marathons in the early year. Then do a few short sprints leading to the kansas 70.3 where I'll go fairly easy. Just a training race for Lake Placid at the end of July. Two goals next season. Get back to Kona and get first OVERALL in the South Midwest Region in points. If I dont qualify for Kona I'm going to do the Virginia double Ironman. :)
Hope everyone is doing well and had a good holiday season! As always feel free to shoot me an email and hopefully i'll run into you sooner or later!
Included are a few photos from White Rock.
