I had no issues on em. :D

Yup. Another great day. Run may have been a bit fast. I dunno. You tell me? :D I actually wanted to run 7s. My final pace was 7s but I had to run a 6:45 and 6:56 to get that. On that 7:06 I did a little Fartlek type thing. Tried running/sprinting to different spots along the run. Was really fun. Changed everything up a bit. The swim was good. Im starting to actually like those 100 sprints :D

Doing the Muesnter ride tomm w/ Scott. Not sure what kinda mileage were gonna do. Hes talking about maybe doing the 100K + the 64K = 100miles :-O Ugh. Not sure if I can do that. First off, im at work right now. Meaning that im not gonna get to sleep probably more than 2hrs before this ride! 100miles on 2hrs of sleep. no way. I dunno. well find out tomm. I hope we end up doing 70miles then a 30-45min run. Thats what I have planned.

Great little ride. Was alot like yesterdays workout. Nice and easy. Steady. Had a little acid build up towards the end but thats nothing diff. Wasnt ass much as usual. :D Dont know if that mileage is completely accurate. May be something closer to 49miles. :/ Had 60 miles planned for today and a track RUN plus maybe some weights :D Those didnt happen. Had a tech meeting tonight and got home and had alot of stuff to do for school. The 50 miles felt great though :D

Day after nats. Drove back last night and got in around 9. Grabbed a 6pack and chilled at the house. Today I went to the Play-Tri HIM and watched Aaron and Julie run. Aaron had a great race and time of 4:54. None the less it was fun. Got home and was tired. Just passed out and did a bunch of nothing. :D

Wow. I honestly couldnt be much more proud of myself. I raced hard. I ran hard. The competition here was unreal. I expected alot, but not this much. My times were smokin and was only good enough for 149th. It was so close that if Id raced 3minutes faster I would have been top 100. 5min faster top 75. I need to write up a race report. And thats what Ill do. I need to update a few other workouts for this week. Overall the production was amazing. Terrific venue. Amazing course. sweet transition. Two thumbs up and major props to USAT.

Heading over to Alabama today for nationals. Long story? Yea.. Alarm was supposed to go off @ 4:30am. Apparently it did and I turned it off. Dont think I left till 8:30. 4hrs later than I actually planned. Somehow made it ontime to packet pick up and found transition. Everything looks good. Transition is MASSIVE. Hotel is a piece.

Day Off ****


What I need to do is asses why I race. Try to figure out what it is I want from the sport of triathlon. With nationals only a few days away I find myself doubting all my talent. Talent I have worked OH so hard to have. There are people racing Saturday that I know I cant beat. Meaning that ive more than accepted the fact that I will not win, and im almost to the fact of accepting that I may not even place top 50. What if I do run a sub 6:00 pace. What then? Do i place top 20? Maybe? Possibility? Yes... Possibility of me running a sub 6 pace? O. None. Neal... nada. Me running a sub 6:30 pace. TOTAL possibility. What happens then? I have no idea. Well just have to wait and find out.


....Am I having fun racing? Why of course. I know that. The thing is... am I taking the right approach to what I want. I am there to beat people.... but im also there to enjoy myself and overcome that challenge of what triathlon is. Triathlon has made who I am today.

I feel like I need to change my approach to racing. I need to take it seriously... but I need to remember that in the end... Its honestly not about winning... its about who I am... and who the sport has made me. I dont want it to make me into a jealous athlete. Thats not who I am. I do though... want to be the best possible athlete I can be. Im prepared to take everything to the next level to achieve that. I feel like thats what im doing this season. This season is a pre-requisite to next season where it will all come together. When it comes down to racing.... its time to be serious...Right now.. before the race. Its time to focus.. but its also time to remember what the sport of Triathlon is about.

So. Had to improvise today. Ha. Woke up around 2ish... John comes in and tells me its nasty outside. Well... to my suprise as well it was raining and COLD. Anyways... hung out w/ john for a bit. Went to B&B and got measured. I then went ahead and got my crank ordered. Going to get it installed on Thursday and get the rest of my parts ordered for my new frame. I also found out that my frame wont even be shipped till early May :( Yea. I guess they're back ordered?! Not too sure. But anyways... I will be racing w/ my new StrongLight Pulsion Crank :D Yup.

Workouts went really well. Rode inside. "Negative" splits all the way to the end. 10min WU and 5min CD. Watched Ricky bobby during :D
The swim also went well. Was VERY improvised, yet fun and fast. Felt good. Was going to do 1750m but ended up only doing 1600m. Pool was closing :( Aight. One more day of work and school this week then im leaving for Nationals on Friday!!!!!

Pretty great little pool swim today. Did some "speed" work and that was different. Ive done pool speed work, but nothing like that. Just die 100s @ sprint pace. Should probably plan on something faster than 1:20 from now on. But that was my first time.
Did some weights when I got home, and that went well. Was like normal. Started out REALLY not wanting to do them and forcing myself to do it and getting done and being indifferent about it. I still dont really like doing weights. :(

So far this week all workouts have gone as planned some im realllllly happy about that ;D Hopefully I can keep that up and taper hard next week! Unlike my Half Flu. Alright. Mi trainee is almost done so ive gotta get off here. Aight.

Good little ride. Did hills. I didnt really go all that hard at any point during the ride. Even on the hills. I actually used my small ring at one point on the "wall". I know I know... ha. whatever. Anyways. Track workout here in a bit. Going to head down there and see what I can do. Id like to do Mile WU; 4 X 400; 4 X 200; Mile CD. Hopefully it works out like planned. :D

Yeaaaaa... It all worked out. Man. That run was fassssssst. Definitly my fastest by far. 1:11 is my fastest 400 I think ever. I can totally take :11 off that if I was trying to PR. Actually did the 200 X 4 and that was good. Hurt. But was good. Obviously that last lap was slow. Did close to negative splits on the 400s but obviously I couldnt beat 1:11. :D wow. Its thundering outside. . Tomm. should be nice. Im gonna do a HARD swim, and weights. Will be almost nothing compared to today. Monday was nice. Sunday was long. Im thinking about changing up Thur. workout. Not sure to what yet. Alright. Im out. I probably have something due tomm. :(

Jebus!! thats exactly what I wanted! Couldnt have asked for much more. First run was probably a bit too slow but was a good warm up. God, that last bike was moving. Really was a TT. 21.1 avg rocks for that course. Wind wasnt too bad so that was nice. Was the first time ive done another 10 bike w/ this work out and it was bueno. Gonna stick w/ it. Maybe add one more 2miler on the end ?!? lol.

Its still colder than.... Ridiculous. Im really tired of this. Had to break out the winter cycling gear. Wore a beanie and all. Afterwards took a shower and decided to grab some sushi w/ john @ Tom Toms. Was awesome. Got some Jap beer and that was nice.

Whew. Done, and done. 4:58:06. New PR by about 10 minutes! Was nice to really dominate a run like that. Had a few issues. First off was my wet suit rubbed pretty bad on my neck and that hurt. Not so much then, but a few days later. : - /
Around mile 48 on the bike I started getting uncomfortable. Had to come up a few times and ended up riding the last probably 5miles on the bars. . Something ill need to work on. Not sure if ill be riding the new bars placid yet.
